Is Sonic MyDVD capable of multichannel (5.1) DVD-A (Audio Only) authoring? If it is capable of 5.1 audio authoring, what is the maximum resolution it can handle? I realize that DVD-A is a so-called "dead format," but it doesn't require a video interface to playback audio (like BD-A), it's still cheap and it can be played in vehicles equipped for surround sound. In fact, I have no idea why the DVD-A didn't last much longer than it did. Thank you.

Answer: Sonic MyDVD does not support multichannel (5.1) DVD-A audio authoring. Consequently, it cannot handle the maximum resolution for such audio authoring.
I am trying to use Sonic MyDVD. I created a project that had 3 short video clips that I had saved to the hard drive from Sony Cybershot. I also added to the project some photos that I had saved from Sony Cybershot. It appeared to create and transcode when it was writing files. At the end a sense code (30c00) and write-error (2130906112) appeared. When I try to play back DVD, it seems to take forever to load in the DVD drive. Is there anythIng on the DVD? I am not sure. Any thoughts?

What you're experiencing is called bad burning and it's related to DVD burning. The error 30C00 or, more technically, 3/0C/00 is the result of a WRITE ERROR. This is a general code given by your optical device. Please check your burning device for any errors and check the cable. Once you complete this operation, perform a new burn using your content or switch the application.
MyDVD is rather old and it's possible that it doesn't understand new burning techniques or file formats, even if you use AVI files. Try to use Ashampoo Burning Studio and you should overcome this error. However, the error could be caused by the fact that you are trying to create a Video disc and the system lacks the proper codecs. Install CCCP Codecs and then try again.
I have a 5-6 year old Dell Computer and somehow I cannot find my Sonic MyDvd Le disc to re-install into my computer. Can you advise me how I can obtain another of the same, or one that is compatible with my system? I need to be able to make copies, etc.
